It’s been a while since I last posted. We’ve arrived back in Australia and moved ourselves to Macquarie Fields where I’ve just begun my new role as Rector (Senior Minister) of Glenquarie Anglican Church and Chair of Break the Cycle.
Macquarie Fields [wiki] is obviously a very different place to Neutral Bay [wiki] where we’ve moved from and yet it’s still the same. While there may be vast differences in wealth and opportunities, some things don’t change. The cracks in the walls of people’s lives can be much the same, but in some places the wallpaper covering the crack is much nicer.
The basic task of bringing the gospel to people in both word and accompanying deed remains the same. I covet your prayers as I set about leading people in it. There’s some wonderful work going on around us as people strive to meet the immediate and deeper needs of what is, in parts, a struggling place. We’re immensely privileged to be a part of it.
Over the coming months I’ll be working hard at understanding the place and sharing some of that here with you.
