Speeding fine

Man, I’m annoyed.

I just got my first ever traffic violation – a A$203 fine for going 60kph in a 40kph zone.
(That’s US$146 and GPB76 respectively – care of Universal Currency Converter)

So, 2 notes to self

i make sure you know exactly what the speed limit is when you’re driving – these Australian fines are heavy.
ii well done!! Look at the precision you drive with, David!! You thought the limit was 60 and you drove 60. Congratulations 😉

Eww, that stinks. But good job on the trying not to speed 🙂

I’m off for the weekend, so hopefully you can handle while I’m out of town. I should be back Monday.

That’s about what speeding tickets cost in Florida (which is one of the more expensive states in that regard).

I am truly amazed that I have gotten no speeding tickets ever. The only traffic tickets I’ve gotten are ones that were stupid and avoidable, i.e., I saw a cop right there watching me do it.

It’s comparable to the US, actually. My wife was initially fined close to US$200 for travelling close to 100 kph in what was alleged to be a 75 kph zone. Of course, the fact that she was actually travelling 90 kph in a 90 kph zone meant a different disposition of her case.

Zones/speeds are approximations, as the US is still on that silly British measurement system. You know, the one the British themselves have long since abandoned. 😉

    Speeding Fine

Whot No Points! Well, finally caught out – I can only hope that Charis wasn’t in the car. Don’t want to be setting the kid a bad example now do we! Here in sunny Germany the fines are heafty, but the Motorways are at least unrestricted for the most parts.
I have yet to be caught speeding anywhere in the world and i intend to keep it that way.

    cheers
    Martin
