I got interviewed this afternoon for a short article in Eternity newspaper, “The Next Step for Breakaway Anglicans“.
I think I'd want to offer a few tiny observations: I'm not convinced we should call GAFCON “breakaway”. The people that have broken away from Anglicanism are those that have rejected its historical doctrinal positions. Also, at the end of the interview they say this,
What will be the next step? Ould says its a question he can't really answer. But if the past is anything to go by, he expects to hear things “at a slower rate than we want”.
What I'd intended to communicate is that the understandable call from some for prompt action simply won't happen. GAFCON is a “steady as she goes” sort of beast. But have no doubt, however, in which direction it's all going.
