I’m Senior Associate Minister at St John’s Anglican Cathedral, Parramatta in Sydney, Australia. I’m married to Jacqui, who I met whilst at All Souls, Langham Place in London. We have three Ouldlets.

As a Christian, this site is a mixture of my thoughts on life and Jesus, and in particular how those things are worked out in the Anglican Church into which I was ordained in 2008.

When not writing here I’m syndicated from time to time at Stand Firm, The Gospel Coalition (Australia) and Anglican Ink. I sit on the General Synod of the Anglican Church of Australia.

Here’s a brief summary of what my work involves…

I hope you enjoy visiting. Do feel free to leave a comment and become part of the conversation or read more about who I am and why I’m here.

who do I blame?

My views are my own and may not necessarily be representative of St John’s Cathedral, the Anglican Diocese of Sydney or, indeed, anyone else.

    Greetings David,
F Y I: Originally from WA I am the only person to have spent 36 yrs as a stained-glass artist, Churchill Fellow 1974. No book on stained glass existed until i spent 4yrs study, research etc so now it’s in print.
Not just a ‘ pic ‘type visual, but story of commissions; Parish life, as in W A hardly an Anglican Country / City Parish lacks our collective works. I dedicate it to two UK men, Edward ‘Ted Gowers & Albert Brown [ both R I P ] who gave Aust their all.

I look forward top your reply as mush it to learned, from my educational book [ maths; science of glass; architecture; subject selections] to mention a few. Appreciate your time.

    Respectfully …. Ken ph 0415 399 022
ps: I live in Bass Hill NSW….

After watching the drum the other night I understand why the church congregations are diminishing, Lets put aside that the young man on the program declared himself homosexual . Rector Ould’s overbearing and self righteous opinions towards this young man were breathtaking. We all need to respect the difference of opinions . Would I be disrespectful to suggest there may be a hint of some self promotion for Rector Ould. I was raised and lived for 12 years in a Catholic boarding school and I am not a church goer now. But I did learn some important things from these wonderful women. I would have encouraged this young man in the conversation , not making him uncomfortable and respectfully listened to his views It would be interest if Rector Ould would take the time and speak to this young man and see how he felt. Could be a christian thing to do.

hi Lisa. I think you’ll find that Jason Ball is more than able to look after himself. He is a political activist who has been a prominent campaigner on a number of issues since his university days. I am, by comparison, a relative novice at this media game but if I gave Jason a run for his money then I’m glad.
I’ll leave others to decide whether my manner was overbearing and self-righteous. As for self-promotion, I suggest you review our respective websites and decide for yourself which of us is more interested in marketing themselves.
