SCIENCE EXPERIMENT!!!!

Right, your help needed.
I’ve decided to hold an internet experiment. I was bathing Charis (ouldjr) tonight and I realised that the water went down the plughole in a clockwise direction.
And I thought to myself….

Is it true that water goes down in different directions depending on where you are?

Of course, LJ is the perfect way to test this hypothesis. So here’s what you do.
You go to the nearest bath/sink.
You pour in some water.
You let out the plug.
You note carefully which way round the water shhhlurps out of the plughole.
You rush back pronto to your computer.
You let us all know:

1 Where you are
2 Which way down the water goes

Tell your friends!!

Does it get any more exciting that this?

thanks, we will have a summary of the (limited) responses soon.

Your contribution to the advancement of science is duly noted.

I’m more disturbed by the fact that you are listening to “Mental as Anything”. You’re in Sydney I grant you, but that’s just the limit.

Oh, and for the record: Oxford UK, Clockwise

    My experiences

When I worked in a kitchen, we would continually observe this despite scientists warning us that the micro currents far out weighed the effect of the Earth’s motion.

Almost without fail, the water flowed counter clockwise. We would occasionally spin it in the other direction. 😀 We would get occasionally yelled at by our boss for having fun on the job. 😀

I came across your journal randomly and tried the experiment for you. Clockwise. U.S.A.

    Science Experiment

I thought you got GCSE Physics – In the northern Hemisphere anticlockwise and in the southern Hemishpere Clockwise. Obviously this was so long ago that you have forgotten the simple things.
