Youth

Who are we?

HC Youth is a ministry of Holy Covenant Anglican Church in Jamison. We are part of the Youth, Children and Families team in the Parish and work with young people of high school age and their families. We seek to support young people to grow relationships with one another and with God.

What we do

Sunday mornings: Our regular, weekly programs run during the 10am service. Everyone in Year 7 and up welcome. We have two streams for our young people to choose from:

  • RE:New — offers an opportunity to explore the ideas behind our Bible readings set for each Sunday, and provides our young people with the tools to handle the big questions that life throws at us all. Re:New youth will return to the 10am service to participate in communion.
  • Youth Space — runs for the duration of the 10am service, pausing for those young people who choose to participate in communion. Youth space focuses on relationships. Each term we will tackle a new topic that challenges us to change the way we see one another, our world and God.

Northside Youth Hubs: Youth Hubs are an initiative of Synergy Youth (synergy.org.au). They provide opportunities for Youth Groups from across the diocese to come together for a night of fun, worship and teaching. HC Youth have hosted a hub in the past and continue to participate in these great events.

Year 10+ Dinners: About once each term our young adults in Year 10 and above get together for a food and film night. It's a great opportunity to dig in to a nice meal, share our eclectic taste in movies and get to know each other better.

Other events, camps, social nights, etc: On top of our regular programs we run at least one social event each term and support several camps and events throughout the year.
