The Diocese of Canberra-Goulburn have announced the resignation of Bishop Robinson after 10 years in the role.

    Locals in that parish in the Diocese of Sydney may well be pleased that he (and Jane) are going to join them. But many, many people within the Diocese of Canberra-Goulburn are very sad that they are leaving.

    An Anglican bishop can resign before the age of 75 but not for health reasons? I thought they had to serve til 75, as for Roman Catholic bishops, unless they had medical certificates to prove they were no longer up to the job physically. If it is not that difficult for an Anglican bishop to resign, would that not cause an Anglican diocese to get through quite a few bishops, say over a 50 year period?
