Why do Theology?

The UCCF (Universities and Colleges Christian Fellowship) in the UK have set up something they call the “Theology Network“. Here’s what they say about themselves:

Theology Network exists to equip you with top quality theological resources- both articles and audio talks. We believe that Christian theology is the most exciting thing possible since it’s simply about knowing God better.

Got to love that. In charge of all this wonderful stuff is a guy called Mike Reeves. As you will see from his facebook picture (on the right), Mike likes a laugh and this leads to him being an extremely entertaining and engaging speaker. In my book a phd, a ready wit and (above all) a heart that loves the Lord make someone suitably qualified for this kind of work.

The Theology Network have a huge number of resources available, in both text and audio.

  1. For some reason that embedded MP3 play makes the sound go in double time… so it sounds like a chipmunk with an English accent.  Got the MP3 downloaded and we’re backt o normal time.

Well I got the original file… good stuff… “theology of the loo… we’ll get to Luther later.“  I about fell off my chair laughing.  This is good stuff, reminiscent of my first systematics class.  The first session was basically, “everyone is a theologian, we [the 3 systematics profs teaching the class] have an agenda: to make you a GOOD theologian.“
