Thanks for replying John. I have to confess that I’m more confused than ever now. I assume that you’re now lumping me in with the non-thinking people just for asking the question. I’ve got to say, it comes across as a bit superior - “you’re not a thinker if you don’t follow the thought processes that I follow”. I’m sure that’s not your intention but there it is. I trust that you can allay my fears over this one.

I like the Russell quote. Thing is, it confuses me as well. If our opinions would be wiser as a process of our own thinking rather than sheepishly following others, then why do you spend so much of your blog quoting others rather than writing your own original thoughts?

Look forward to hearing from you and your own thinking. Or, at least, reading you quoting others.
