I don’t think that gives quite the right sense of God’s hatred of sin. For the child with leukemia wishes every waking hour to be delivered from it, and would certainly do so if it had the means.
In the case of our sin, we love it and cling to it. And we are responsible for it.
you’re right. It’s only one side of the coin.
However, the quote immediately made me think of Jesus weeping at Lazarus’ tomb. Whilst He was, presumably, angry at Lazarus’ sin He also hated what sin did to Lazarus.
