here, the question is raised

As I was rushing to get my two daughters ready for church this morning, my younger daughter, who was eating breakfast at the time, looked up and asked, “Mommy, what’s eternal life?”

Great question, and if you can’t answer yourself then who better to go to than the minister?

When I told Fr. Earl about it at church, we were laughing over the simplicity of the question, and the complexity of the answer! Not something that can be answered in 25 words or less!

Perhaps I’m a fundamentalist or something but I think the question can be answered in less than 25 words. 16, to be exact (or 12 in the greek!)

John 17:3 Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.

But of course, that would mean having the bible as an authority….

and knowing it…

… neither of which you will sadly get at the vast majority of Episcopal churches today.
